But this week I want to share a failure story with you….it’s long, so bear with me.

As you know I am ALWAYS open to trying new marketing ideas to grow your business. I never want to recommend an idea to you that’s not proven first.

Rather, if you want to test a marketing strategy, I’ll do it for free to see if it works.

In this case, we recently took all 26,000 emails in a buyer lead generation platform and imported them into Facebook as a “custom audience.” Facebook recognized 13,000 of them – which means we can run ads only to those people.

We then created this ad to run for 30 days for $1,000 to get those people to call Lisa and Goran Forss to see a home.


And when you clicked the ad it takes you to this landing page:

Since Feb 28th, the ad has been shown to 10,149 of the 13,000 an average of 8 times, generating 369 clicks at $1.83 per click.


Good results, right? WRONG.

The phone number in the ad is a trackable IfByPhone number and Goran only had 3 phone calls, without a single appointment.

We’ve spent $676 to date with NO RESULTS AT ALL. There was lots of engagement and branding, but no “conversions.” I stopped the bleeding today.

If we put that money into expired mailings, past-client followup phone calls, and a monthly mailer to the best people in his database, he would get better results in my opinion.  

In this case, we tested retargeting the new and old leads with a direct offer on Facebook and didn’t get the intended results.

Goran would like me to test run a Facebook ad to the same audience to identify SELLERS in those buyer leads with his Barbara Corcoran endorsement.

Anyway, I can write a lot about this marketing test, but my point today is if you have a marketing strategy you want to test, let me know and I’ll do it for free.

This, of course, assumes you’re following the core Vyral Marketing Plan of asking for email addresses, sending out 2 videos a month, and calling the people who are watching your videos.

If you’re not doing that, all this is a distraction from what really works.
