Welcome New Client Matthew Lutz
Allison: How did you hear about Vyral? What motivated you to call us?
Matthew: I actually heard about you guys while watching a video that Frank sponsored on the Google Hangout with Real Geeks. What motivated me to work with you guys is the fact that I'm a new agent, and one of the things I've been struggling with is lead follow up. I just know with my generation of millennials–and even gen Xers and baby boomers–people tend to click on a video before they sit there and read a whole newsletter. So, giving a quick update with a 90 second video, I think nine times out of ten they're going to prefer that to reading a newsletter. That's what turned me onto it. It's something I would use, and my friends and past clients would use it as well. Even though I'm a new agent and not quite there with my budget yet, I think this is going to help set the proper systems to run my business.
Allison: Summarize where you're at with your business right now. What are your business goals for 2015?
Matthew: Well, right now my business goals are to build a database and to get listings. Colorado right now is a hot market. An average market is about 20,000 homes. We are under 5,000 homes for the month of March. My ultimate goal is just to build that database through door knocking, and open houses. I think 1,920 is a million dollar database, so if I could get to 2,000 in the next few years, I would be happy.
Allison: How many people do you have in your database? Are you doing anything to market to them?
Matthew: Yeah, we are marketing with a local title company once a month. We send out flyers. I would say I have probably 200 or less in the database.
Allison: What is working well? Why hire us instead of trying this yourself?
Matthew: Part of working with Keller Williams is that there are systems in place, and one of the things I wanted to leverage out was follow up. Having these videos as part of our system, so that as I grow, this will be a staple of my business. My business plan is to follow up with people. Not just if they're buying or selling a home, but throughout life, I want to follow up with them year after year. I think these short little videos are things that people will actually use. There's so much out there that just goes from the mailbox to the trash or gets deleted. I want to have something that is original and with the times. Newsletters are nice, but they're old fashioned. Like I said, I want this to be part of my business now, so it becomes a staple as I grow.
Allison: What does success look like to you? What kind of results do you expect to see with the Vyral Marketing program?
Matthew: Since I'm a newer agent, and spending money on follow up on a small database like I have, it's going to keep me motivated to keep building that database. I want to add at least three emails a day, or a minimum of fifteen a week. It's funny how when you have money going out, it motivates you to keep doing what you said you were going to do to reach your goals. It really helps me focus on the goal of adding to my database, as opposed to wondering what I'm going to do for follow up or what's the new thing I'm going to try. I get ten calls a week on new marketing tools, and now I don't even have to think about it. I can say, No thank you, I've got mine.
Allison: Is there anyone that we need to thank for your business?
Matthew: Frank. I've been watching a lot of videos with him. I think he helps everyone that watches the videos, 100%.
