EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Othow Anade
John: We're here again with another Vyral employee spotlight. Today I am with Othow Anade, a video editor here at Vyral. Othow, how long have you been working here?
Othow: About 6 or 7 months. I started in October.
John: Why did you join Vyral Marketing to begin with?
Othow: I went to school for graphic design and graduated in 2012. Since then, I've been looking for a job in my field. I was browsing on Craigslist and I saw a video editor position at Vyral Marketing. I applied for it, and here I am now.
John: Describe your first impression here.
Othow: It's a very laid-back environment. It was something different from what I'm used to. I was at my previous job for 8 years, I was doing production. This was a very big difference, and when I had the interview, you told me just come in and dress casual, and I thought that was pretty cool. It was definitely different.
John: Why are you still here at Vyral?
Othow: I like the job a lot, I like what I do. I come to work and it doesn't really feel like work. I enjoy working here. I used to do video editing for music videos and things, but I like this job.
John: Where do you think you're headed with your career here at Vyral?
Othow: We're still in the beginning process of production here, but I would really like to be more involved with that. I want to be a better video editor.
John: What would you say you've learned since you've worked here?
Othow: I've learned a lot of things. There's a lot of entrepreneurs here and a lot of business-minded people. Being around you guys motivates me. As a local company that's only been around for seven years, it rubs off on me. I was never really a guy to set goals, but I've started to do that and I like it a lot.
John: Let's talk about the people here. What do you like about the people at Vyral?
Othow: There are a lot of young minds here. Fresh minds. I get motivated by a lot of people here.
John: Do you have any memorable moments working at Vyral?
Othow: In the third week after I started, we had something at Beercade with a $1,000 tab. I have never drank on the job before, and it kind of blew my mind. That was a memorable experience.
John: So you've edited tons of videos - has there ever been an experience of a client coming to Lindsay saying that you "wowed" a specific client.
Othow: I did a video for Adrienne Lally once, a client in Hawaii, and they sent an email saying how much they loved the video.
John: What would you tell someone who is thinking about working here at Vyral?
Othow: It's a great company. There are a lot of opportunities here. It's definitely a place where you can get a lot of experience.
John: Any personality traits of someone who should not work at Vyral?
Othow: Someone who can't communicate. Communication is a very big thing.
