So, you have a database full of contacts - but how do you connect with them in a meaningful way? Nobody wants to spam their audience; it's bad for your image and doesn't help grow your business. The key is generating content that your audience views as valuable. The question then arises: How do you choose a video topic that you enjoy creating and that your audience will be interested in?

Coming up with an interesting topic can be difficult. You don't want to pick a topic that you think is great, because what you think will be great may not be what the audience actually wants.

Luckily, there are easy ways to find what your audience thinks is relevant. If you implement these 4 specific strategies to find a topic, you will discover content you love to create and that your audience will enjoy.

Strategy #1: Answer customer questions

If you go to your customers and ask them what questions they have about your product or service, you are going to find that there is existing demand for content. Putting a Q & A box on your website is an easy way do this. You can also find the best customers in your database and send an email to them asking what content they would like you to create for them. Google Forms is a great, free way to do this.

Strategy #2: Search FAQs online

If you don't have any customers, or you can't speak with or identify your prospects, one of the best strategies is to go to Google. You can type in a topic from any industry and put FAQ at the end - there will likely be someone who has put together a list of frequently asked questions that your ideal customer or prospect will ask. Look at those questions and come up with answers for them that are your own. Don't plagiarize - show your expertise by giving a unique answer. This is a great way to come up with answers to questions your customers may be asking, even if you don't have access to those customers right away.

Strategy #3: Use Amazon's 'Look Inside' Feature

People are purchasing information every single day online. Go to Amazon and type in your industry - you'll be able to see the top two or three books that people are buying that are full of content your audience wants. You can look inside those books right on your computer, for free, and generate content by simply looking at the table of contents.

Strategy #4: Use Google Keyword Planner

The reason Google makes billions of dollars is because they publish for advertisers what people are searching for. Let's say you want to create a topic on a video for the concept of a short sale, which is a real estate concept. You can go to the Google Keyword Planner, type in the industry concept, and find all the related search terms that people are looking for related to the keyword 'short sale.' The terms the search yields will help you pick your video topic.

To summarize  these strategies in one sentence: Instead of coming up with a topic yourself, find out what the market wants and create relevant content that suits their interests.
