Welcome New Client Bart Vickrey
John: How did you hear about us?
Bart: I heard about your company through Lars Hedenborg, who is a client of yours. We met each other in 2010 when he was just starting to hit his stride. Recently, we ran into each other at a Dan Kennedy Info Summit and we realized we were on the same trajectory. We had similar ideas on how to build a business - which is to build it so that it serves our lifestyle, instead of the other way around.
John: What motivated you to reach out to us?
Bart: Lars showed me a video that you guys hosted and I did more research on our company. I'm a big fan of Jeff over at Real Geeks and I've been a client of his since June 2010. I've always liked the way he operates. I noticed you guys were working together for Keeping it Real Hangouts. I've watched all of them and they are phenomenal - every agent should be watching them. I realized you guys are doing things that are aligned with what I'm trying to accomplish.
I do a decent job with my database, but I certainly don't do an excellent job. I've stopped personally calling my database, I have automated systems in place to reach them. I feel like what you guys offer is the next best thing to actually calling them.
John: What are you doing now to communicate with your database?
Bart: I send a printed monthly newsletter to my main database. In that, 85% of that has nothing to do with real estate. There is usually a main article where I talk about something like, for example, Thanksgiving and how I feel about the holiday. I share a story from the past and how I am now thankful for things that I didn't realize were important at the time. I'll typically highlight one of my clients, a friend, family member - someone in my database - and have a trivia contest every month, which gets a great response. We also have a page that talks about the homes we've sold throughout the month, because it's important to let people know we are good at what we do. This is our first year of doing this.
We also do greeting cards on New Years, spring, Fourth of July, and Thanksgiving. I'm a huge fan of systems and automations because that's the only way to build a lifestyle business. Additionally, we send a yearly calendar, which is different than most in that it's very useful for tracking and making appointments. I also preach to my team about the importance of phone calls. So, the systems are there, but I think we can definitely get better.
John: What does success on the Vyral program look like to you?
Bart: I just know from what I've seen, from the information you guys have provided for me and from what I've checked out, that this program is gold. I know it's guaranteed to work and I think I can get at least a 10x return on my investment. Why wouldn't I spend money on something I know will help my business?
John: Anyone to thank for your business?
Bart: I would definitely say Lars Hedenborg. If not for him I may not have made myself familiar with you guys.
