Even though he was born in Havana, Cuba, Sam considers himself a native Houstonian. Sam's wife, Tricia, is from the Houston area and has been doing real estate with the Carratala Group since 2013. Prior to joining the team, Tricia had been in the dental industry for about 15 years.

Tricia and Sam have been married for 12 years and have two children - Samantha, who is 9 years old, and Zane, who is 7.
